Why hello there.

There's only two weeks of live programming left for this second
semester, which is probably sadder than puppy road kill. However, that
still means there is just under three hundred hours of shows to listen
to, as well as a heartier than ever number of podcasts available to
download. Not only that but we have more events coming to you shortly.

Do you remember when rock was young? And when Fresh Air used to hold
their annual Twist and Shout night? If so then you'll be mighty pleased
to hear that the 50s and 60s night phenomona will be returning for two
more nights this year. The last Twist and Shout back in February went
down so well that we're hosting it again this Thursday at Medina. Doors
are at 10pm and entry is only £3, just like the old days.

Indie Club Together 2008 is less than two weeks away (Thursday 20th
March), and /The FAN/ can now finally reveal the whole line up for the
night. This years line up are, awesome. Specifically, there will be ;
Fast, I Fly Spitfires, Dogtooth, The Egg, Clash! Jerk Alert! The Dance
Disaster Collective, Black Tape, This is Music, and Sick Note. All that
for £4 before midnight or £5/£4 students after midnight, as that's how
the inflation cookie crumbles. For chin wagging, information and more
add the Indie Club Together myspace
<http://www.myspace.com/indieclubtogether>.

And finally here is Graham to tell us more. Well it's still just /The
FAN/ talking but 'our Graham' and 'our Cilla' will be delighting us with
their chat on Saturday 15th March at Teviot for our version of Blind
Date. As a bit of fun this weekend Fresh Air will be putting on a Blind
Date show, complete with amusing accents, corny decor and the sexiests
of guests. Our tongues will be held firmly in our cheeks, but with such
a romantic atmosohere will that be where they remain? Head down to
Teviot on Saturday at 7pm to find out, entry is by donation.

If you have any comments, recommendations or suggestive remarks which
you want /The/ /FAN /to know about drop us an e-mail at
thefan at freshair.org.uk

Have a good week,

/The FAN/ x

9pm: The Pulse: An interview with Ross Milliard from The Futureheads!
There is also a competition to win a copy of their new single Beginning

from Fife for his Unsung Hero choice, and there will be some brilliant
high-concept tunes from Jonathan Richman and Paul Hawkins. Ripping!

you missed Atlantic or 8 Track Stereo from the previous weeks listen

This week's free track is a simple but beautiful greeting from the
Futuristic Retro Champions; it's called 'Hi' and you can download it
right here <http://www.freshair.org.uk/newsletter/retro_champs_-_hi.mp3>.

The FRC <http://www.myspace.com/retrochamps> are becoming a bit of a
Fresh Air favourite having played at the Fresh Air Live gig during the
epic Student Festival earlier this year, and nipping playfully at our
ears last Monday when they were guests on the Sex, Drugs and Cotton
Candy show.

According to their myspace:

"Futuristic Retro Champions formed in 2006 after the collision of two
small stars caused a mass expulsion of electron particles. These
particles collected in five human shaped lumps scattered across the
globe. Over time their destiny to reunite and once again illuminate the
sky with nuggets of electro pop bliss was fulfilled." The /FAN /thinks
that just darn dandy, and a great reason to find out more about them.

They have four dates in Edinburgh coming up in the next few months, the
first one being on the 5th April at This is Music at Henry's Cellar Bar,
the rest being listed in orderly fashion on their myspace
<http://www.myspace.com/retrochamps>.
