Like the live broadcast the FAN has had a few weeks off. However just
like The Stig we're raring to
go, so welcome to this weeks FAN; the Fresh Air Newsletter and all round
guide and comforter to the next four weeks of music in Edinburgh
.
Check out the Fresh Air recommends section for more details.
It seems Scotland in general has decided not to bother, but we at Fresh
Air have decided to push on with Summertime
. Therefore we're hosting
the 50s and 60s night 'Twist and Shout' at Medina again this Thursday,
but this time, with special guests. Just like Rambo
there has now been four Twist and
Shouts but it is the first time we've had a live music there too. So
would you please put your hands together for the people who play musical
instruments, The Tri-tones. Please also put you hands in your pockets,
even with the band the night is still only ?3 entry, rad! For glorious
surfer tunes check out their myspace .
The new schedule is now in place and ready to launch on April 19th. It's
a dainty little four week broadcast this session, however shows have
been extended to 90 minutes each on a weekday and a full two hours at
the weekend. Small but filing it's a Snack-A-Jack
of a broadcast, its good for you, enjoy
it. The next broadcast will be covering the Fringe, a very busy and
exciting time with loads of opportunitites to get involved and loads of
great content being made. Last year we got interviews with many headline
acts, as well as Les Dennis
and reviewed tonnes of shows. Expect more information next week, in the
mean time, browse .
As usual there are all the normal bits in this week's /FAN/, with this
week's free track coming courtesy of Atlantic. However as the live
schedule has not yet begun this weeks features and show picks recommend
you the best audio content downloadable from our website
. If you yourself are interested in
interviewing bands or writing and recording your own scripted work now
is a great time to get in touch with Fresh Air. As of this evening a new
position is being made for Head of Speech and Creative and space made in
next years schedule for such ceative content. Keep watching the website
for more details or alternatively come to the meetings at 7.30 at
Frankensteins every Tuesday.
The elections for next year's committee will be held at the general
meeting this evening. If you're a member make sure you come along,
membership cards in anxious and excited hands and vote. If you aren't a
member then feel free to come along and hear what ideas we have for
moving the station forward next year.
See you soon, /The FAN/
Although the new live broadcast schedule has not yet begun, there are
still shows that you can listen to. Check out the following shows,

This section usually notes what special events, live guests, themes, and
bar mitzvahs will be featured on Fresh Air that week. So what do we
expect you to do between broadcasts? Listen to Forth Radio.
Not really.
Instead the /FAN/ will tell you about some of the features our website
is currently sporting, in all this seasons' colours and styles.
Interviews : All the
interviews from our Festival coverage can still be found on the website
alongside interviews from the last few months including Los Campesions,
Kowalsky, Wired Desire, Make Model & more.
Reviews : Can be found here
. Gigs, albums, singles, check it.
Forums: Check out the forums for
all sorts of music and Edinburgh chat. Amongst others at the minute
there is a thread on under-exposed artists, well worth a look.
Tenants - The Soap : Written
and aired this time last year Tenants- Fresh Air's Radio Soap is

This week's free track is by Atlantic,
"the inventors of future mammoth
rock" who performed on The Lowdown but a few weeks ago. When in the
studio they did an acoustic session, but this week's track is here in
all its heavy gritty glory. Enjoy!
Download their track "Optimus Prime" here
