[Festival Crew] My Festival... as in the webpage, not MY personal festival...

Hey guys and girlies

Great to see you all tonight. I expect a lot of you will be fairly in the
dark as to what this whole "My Festival" malarkey is about, so I shall
enlighten you...

We're going to have a big section on the website where we put up little
profiles of members of the public and performers alike, containing their
name, where they come from, a photo, and a little interview in which they
tell us about THEIR festival experience. This will get people visiting the
website, as they'll be so excited to have been interviewed by a real live
radio station and to have a pic and interview on our website. Then they'll
explore the rest of the website, listen to the stream, and become bona-fide,
loyal fans of Fresh Air. That's the plan, anyway. Also, it's about getting
EVERYONE'S opinions - people will like to hear what other ordinary folk have
liked and disliked, rather than the wordily worded opinions of pretentious
media types like us...

I've attached to this email some instructions on how to create a My Festival
profile, what to include etc. Tim will be sending round instructions on how
to do all the uploading, plus it'll be covered in the training sessions, but
this is just about the content itself. Doing one of these profiles shouldn't
take long - if you're just walking through town on your way back from
recording a feature and you have a digital recorder and a camera on you,
then you can do one or two. If you think you'd like to help out in a more
substantial way and do lots of these, email me and we shall form some sort
of mini-team! Hooray.

Oh yes and one other thing - all producers should read these instructions,
as we want to try and get My Festival recordings from our guests too, and
have them scattered among the members of the public's ones. Obviously you'll
be pretty busy, so this isn't top priority, but it would be nice, and could
be a good ice-breaker /thing to fill that awkward time when you're stood
outside the studio with them.

That's all for now, happy feature-making!
